Matej Skorvanek holds currently a position of
Associated Professor and Head of Movement Disorders Unit and Centre for rare
movement disorders at Department of Neurology, Safarik University in Kosice,
Slovakia. He received his PhD title at University of Groningen, Netherlands. He
is the current chair of the Movement Disorders Section of the Slovak
Neurological Society and a member of the Executive Committee of the Slovak
Neurological Society, he is also chair of the Movement Disorders
Society-European section education committee, Movement Disorders Society COA
Scientific evaluation committee and member of management group of EAN panel on
Movement disorders. His research interests are linked mainly to prodromal
Parkinsons disease, genetics of Parkinsons disease and rare hyperkinetic
movement disorders, especially dystonia.
